Welcome to #CloudMinds

After spending two and a half years as the voice behind the IBM Cloud social media handles and an editor for the Thoughts on Cloud blog, I’ve eagerly stepped into a new role as the #CloudMinds provocatori. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. There are so many reasons to be excited about #CloudMinds, but first — an explanation.

Today, #CloudMinds is a strong, vibrant and loyal group of more than 200 experts, pulling key individuals from the full set of ecosystem constituents. They often convene as the industry’s brightest minds, discuss its most pressing issues and work together toward solutions. This group includes business and technology thought leaders, cloud & mobile SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs, VCs, business partners and developer communities. We encourage our #CloudMinds to continue to engage across digital platforms to continue the conversation and drive meaningful change within the industry.

There’s never been a more exciting time to be working in tech. Cloud, mobile and Internet of Things are enabling innovation we once only dreamed possible. At the risk of sounding overdramatic, they are the catalyst for our very bright future. It’s only right that we take the time to give these topics our full consideration.

From time to time, I’ll be posting here about the discussions that come from #CloudMinds. Our intent with my posts is that we broaden the group and dig even deeper into these topics. My posts here might manifest as summaries of our huddles or dig deeply into some of the questions we have. I might highlight certain conversations on Twitter that use the #CloudMinds hashtag. Or I may focus on an industry trend and ask some pointed questions to get some debate rolling.

And if Medium is a place where you’re comfortable writing and sharing your thoughts, tag your posts with “CloudMinds” and let me know (kallen@us.ibm.com). I’ll be sure to alert the rest of our community.

For those of you who have joined us for a huddle, welcome to the next iteration of #CloudMinds. And to anyone just joining us: Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
